Is my donation tax deductible?
CalMatters is a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Federal Tax ID #47-2474086. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
What will my donation support?
Your donation supports our reporters, editors, photographers, researchers and the people who support our journalism efforts.
Is my donation secure?
Yes. Your security and privacy is our highest priority. We use industry-standard SSL technology to keep your information safe and secure.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, we’ll send a receipt to the email address you provide when donating. The receipt will include your donation details, such as the date, amount, and any beneficiary information.
Are there other ways to give?
You can support CalMatters in many ways: donate by check, through your workplace match, donor-advised fund, stock, IRA, or wire transfer. For long-term impact, you can include CalMatters in your estate plans through bequests, retirement accounts, or life insurance. We also welcome support through advertising and event sponsorships.
